Day 10/Friday:16/11

Today we went to Paihia and had a bit of free time there to go shopping or swimming and after that we walked (about 2 km) to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds are often indicated as New Zealands most important historic place, because they are where the contract of New Zealand was signed.

All in all it was another nice experience with a lot of Maori culture and a museum about Maori history, but it was a pretty long and hot day so kinda exhausting in the end.

Day 11/Monday:19/11

Today we went to the adventure forrest and kiwi north in Whangarei. The adventure forrest was really nice but exhausting (es ist ein Kletterpark, für die, die es nicht wissen) but the Kiwi North was kinda disappointing, because you couldn't really see the Kiwi and I feel like its not the correct way to treat those birds (having them in a dark room which looks like a forest but is always the same) but at least I can say now that I saw a Kiwi while I was in New Zealand! (Fun facts about kiwis: they only live in New Zealand, they're night active and the fact that probably many know already, they're birds but they can't fly).

Day 12-14/Tuesday-Thursday/20-22/11

Three day rotation

Day 1: KiwiBBQ /the cooking with the hospitality department and eating it afterwards turned out really good and was so yum in the end that we all tried to help in the kitchen the days after, to get some of the food (that the other groups did) again. I can't remember all of the dishes (because it were a lot) but there were many meat and fish, but also different salad and veggie dishes and of course deserts so it was more than enough food for everyone in the end!

Day 2: Arts Day /not interesting, we were just doing some random stuff including some Maori flax weaving (picture).

Day 3: Technology Day / my experience of today includes, that I'm really bad in doing handwork or crafting. We've got some metal and were supposed to carve whatever we wanted to (most of us did Maori signs tho) but mine turned out really really bad, which is why I won't show any pictures of the finished version :).

Day 15/Friday/23/11

Today was the last day of school and we had kind of a graduation with the international department, where all of the students who are leaving after two terms (not including me but about 50-60 others) got their certificates and we had a reviewing diashow with all the pictures of moments we had together :)

I'm not gonna put the diashow on my blog here because I'm not sure if it's even legal to put pictures of others in the internet without their permission, but here are some of my favorite pictures/videos of my first half of the year!
